Legion of Honor

This museum was a gift from Alma de Bretteville, wife of sugar magnate Claus Spreckels. It is a slightly smaller replica of the Palais de la Légion d'Honneur. 

This site offers spectacular views to the north of the Marin headlands, as well as to the east of downtown. Lincoln Park Golf Course is just below. The Salon Doré, an historically important French neo-Classical salon, has been reopened after a masterful renovation.
